Book or Movie

MAD Magazine story from 1954 Illustrated by Jack Davis
Usually if a movie was released which was based off a book. People will start becoming skeptical, saying that the movie will be no good. People always come out of the movie saying that the book was better.

Based on my opinion, books were better because of the fact that it was your imagination taking over. In a way you are the director basing your vision on a script. Its your vision, you control the scenes, the camera angles. You can even visualize the what the characters look like, heck you can even put yourself in the shoes of the main character. Being trapped in a world you can call your own is one of the best experiences in reading a book.

I think people get disappointed of the movie versions because of the fact that, they are looking at the vision of someone else. So in a way, you are watching a version of the book you loved so much but in a different perspective. So basically, when the director shares your vision or probably exceeds your expectations, more or less you "will" enjoy the movie.

Three secrets to enjoy a movie is:
  1. Lower your standards
  2. Don't read the book
  3. Turn into a caveman, watch a movie like its your first time.

So to end this article, what makes a good movie? I have no freakin' idea, watch the movie and judge it yourself.
